The city of Montecristi in Manabi province, Ecuador is famous the world-over as a center for the weaving of fine Panama hats. A light and fashionable Montecristi Panama hat takes several weeks to weave. We have blocked these Panamas into a classic fedora style with a 3-inch brim, trimmed them simply and elegantly with a black grosgrain ribbon with a bow finish, and inserted a comfortable cotton sweatband.
